Pharmchem enters African markets

Delhi based Pharmchem, a 32-year-old pharmaceutical company, has recently bagged export orders for macrolides from Tanzania and Kenya. The company is one of the beneficiaries of the Focus Africa programme initiated by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry through the Basic Chemicals Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics Export Promotion Council (Chemexcil).

According to Lalit Kumar Jain, chairman, Pharmchem, the company is specializing on microlides and has bagged export orders from the leading drug manufacturing unit in Kenya. "We are also entering CIS countries and Bangladesh in a significant way," he said.

The products that are currently manufactured and exported by Pharmchem include erythromy-cin stearate IP/BP/USP, erythromycin stearate granules, erythromycin estolate IP/BP/USP, erythromycin estolate long crystals, erythromycin ethyl succinate BP/USP, erythromycin ethyl succinate, erythromycin propinate E. P, erythromycin base IP/BP, roxithromycin, roxithromycin granules, vitamins, niacinamide IP/BP/USP, nicotinamide, niacin / nicotinic acid IP/BP, nicotinamide feed grade, niacin feed grade, erythromycin thiocyanate, flucozinole, silver sulphadiazine, citrazine, acetyl pyridiuium chloride, pyrazinamide and isoniazid IP/BP/USP.

"Pharmchem believes in long term relationships with our customers by working closely with them in complete confidentiality to develop products tailor made to their needs. Excellent quality of our product and best of our services is our permanent commitment. We also cater to contact manufacturing for specialized products other then our own manufacturing. We can offer DMF and impurity profiles. We are dedicated to total customer satisfaction and our plant is designed to manufacture as per WHO GMP, guidelines. We are participating in the forthcoming CPHI Brussels to be conducted during December 7 - 9. If we were part of Chemexcil delegation last time, this year we are on our own and have booked Stall No 11 for the purpose," he explained. Lalit Kumar Jain, a pioneer in the Indian bulk drug industry, is currently the Chairman for Drugs and Pharmaceutical Panel of Chemexcil.
